R. 233</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210106">January 6, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="S001213">Mr. Steil</sponsor> (for himself and <cosponsor name-id="D000631">Ms. Dean</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HFA00">Committee on Foreign Affairs</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 to include financial criminal activities associated with the facilitation of severe forms of trafficking in persons within the factors considered as indicia of serious and sustained efforts to eliminate severe forms of trafficking in persons, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HEA353D73DB214961BDD5476B7AB3341E" style="OLC"><section id="H0C6480291C6B45E7B56E4261EC986EB0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Exposing the Financing of Human Trafficking Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H664C609D519D44A2A4333C3AF55CA1ED"><enum>2.</enum><header>Inclusion of financial criminal activities</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Subsection (b) of section 108 of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF3359E3B1BB8496F8DBB26D76BB2620B" style="OLC"><paragraph id="H2B1EF6CBFA974AE5A39FCBD1B4D22312"><enum>(13)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Whether the government of the country vigorously investigates, seeks to prevent, and prosecutes financial criminal activities associated with the facilitation of severe forms of trafficking in persons.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section></legis-body></bill>
