R. 197</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210105">January 5, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="C000059">Mr. Calvert</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="M001199">Mr. Mast</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000578">Mr. Gaetz</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001260">Mr. Buchanan</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="B001285">Ms. Brownley</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="T000468">Ms. Titus</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HIF00">Committee on Energy and Commerce</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To amend the ICCVAM Authorization Act of 2000 to improve reporting about animal testing and alternative test method use by Federal agencies, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HB214C8209BFC4DF0BDCF7A5362F538AF" style="OLC"><section id="H60336729DE1F4456B2866425B74F0E0C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Federal Accountability in Chemical Testing Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>FACT Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="HC7E50811F328411EA0C6394537212CD6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reporting requirements; provision of information</header><subsection id="H82D3DE0C77B24A47817C18BCECF40774"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Report contents</header><paragraph id="H1E86FB76EDFE4B09BF0E83990CB8C9FD"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Paragraph (7) of section 3(e) of the ICCVAM Authorization Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/285l-3">42 U.S.C. 285l–3(e)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting before the period at the end of the paragraph the following: <quote>, to include a description of the progress on the development, validation, acceptance, and utilization of alternative test methods (including animal use data by species, number, and test type) for toxicological testing conducted, supported, or required by, or submitted to, each Federal agency listed in subsection (c) during the reporting period</quote>.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H82B5EEDB3B4A4BF9A2410CD52AAF5AA4"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by paragraph (1) applies with respect to reports that are made available to the public on or after the date that is 90 days after the date of enactment of this Act.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H07916A7E957C41BB92933ACCA3711BC6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Provision of information</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 4 of the ICCVAM Authorization Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/285l-4">42 U.S.C. 285l–4</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFBE9EE9A956547C0991EE667226FF589" style="OLC"><subsection id="H138C3AF35DCF4781A0D7FC19B06EB29E"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Provision of information</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Each Federal agency carrying out a program described in subsection (a), or its specific regulatory unit or units, shall provide ICCVAM with information needed to carry out this Act.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
