R. 1832</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210311">March 11, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="H001058">Mr. Huizenga</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="M001196">Mr. Moulton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000552">Mr. Gohmert</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000380">Mr. Kildee</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001084">Ms. Herrell</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001136">Mrs. McClain</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000551">Ms. Lee of California</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001186">Mr. Meijer</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="F000466">Mr. Fitzpatrick</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="M001194">Mr. Moolenaar</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001104">Mr. Cawthorn</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000814">Mr. Weber of Texas</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="W000813">Mrs. Walorski</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="S001214">Mr. Steube</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HAS00">Committee on Armed Services</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of Defense to pay a per diem to certain members of the National Guard who performed certain duty in the National Capital Region during the period beginning on January 26, 2021, and ending on March 15, 2021.</official-title></form><legis-body id="HDACD8F094EEE4331B2B1D65E6D0EFAFC" style="OLC"><section id="HC052390414D14738B9C1AAD22EA69E4B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Guard Reimbursement for Unhealthy Bites Act</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>GRUB Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="H50C5F45EDBC14EB580EFE0229BEA6E33" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Per diem for members of the National Guard who performed certain duty in the National Capital Region</header><subsection id="H3F7307307DDB45AF9B5ADE8EF77E32AC"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Per diem required</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Defense shall pay to a covered member a per diem—</text><paragraph id="HB2E3E4769E1B421B8E65155C48516553"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">for each day the covered member performed covered duty during the covered period; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H3B325D2E4EFC40D99BF7808CB5389294"><enum>(2)</enum><text>equal to the proportional meal rate determined by the Defense Travel Management Office for the National Capital Region.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H1F71B08234DD45A4862D88706C83F676"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section:</text><paragraph id="HDD259EE499874CF2A415C78D5AD63FB2"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>covered duty</quote> means duty performed—</text><subparagraph id="HAC3579DFB9ED44AD8BC743540343A63E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in the National Capital Region; and</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H10C079D3AC8343A9BFE219C93A0DE0EC"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in support of the mission in response to the attacks on January 6, 2021, on the Capitol Buildings and the United States Capitol Grounds (described in sections 5101 and 5102 of title 40, United States Code).</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HD7896007C09141A5B7B2CF0A4E293578"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The term <quote>covered member</quote> means a member of the National Guard deployed to the National Capital Region to perform covered duty.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H864F43A19F264B01A628DF85200C2A28"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <quote>covered period</quote> means the period beginning on January 26, 2021, and ending on March 15, 2021.</text></paragraph><paragraph id="HD44C45306C0F45D1B4F435B77EC65CF8"><enum>(4)</enum><text>The term <quote>National Capital Region</quote> has the meaning given that term in section 2674 of title 10, United States Code.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
