R. 1052</legis-num><current-chamber>IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES</current-chamber><action display="yes"><action-date date="20210215">February 15, 2021</action-date><action-desc><sponsor name-id="G000551">Mr. Grijalva</sponsor> (for himself, <cosponsor name-id="O000171">Mr. O'Halleran</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000586">Mr. García of Illinois</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="H001068">Mr. Huffman</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="V000081">Ms. Velázquez</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000579">Mr. Lowenthal</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001211">Mr. Stanton</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000179">Mrs. Napolitano</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="S001177">Mr. Sablan</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="K000368">Mrs. Kirkpatrick</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000002">Mr. Nadler</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="C001117">Mr. Casten</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="L000593">Mr. Levin of California</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="G000574">Mr. Gallego</cosponsor>, <cosponsor name-id="N000191">Mr. Neguse</cosponsor>, and <cosponsor name-id="B000574">Mr. Blumenauer</cosponsor>) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the <committee-name committee-id="HII00">Committee on Natural Resources</committee-name></action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To withdraw certain Federal land in the State of Arizona from location, entry, and patent under mining laws, and for other purposes.</official-title></form><legis-body id="H118AF72DB28443D2B33D4026BE3E0485" style="OLC"><section id="H05FBC6FDD39347978937F799DDBF613C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Grand Canyon Protection Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section><section id="H5E72F7F8B8CB46639343B97506B351E5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Withdrawal of Certain Federal land in the State of Arizona</header><subsection id="H634CAD4B2ACD423BBD12536125D19730"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definition of Map</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act, the term <term>Map</term> means the map prepared by the Bureau of Land Management entitled <quote>Grand Canyon Protection Act</quote> and dated January 22, 2021.</text></subsection><subsection id="H7601BA979BCF46D7BA0564D23450BBFD"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Withdrawal</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subject to valid existing rights, the approximately 1,006,545 acres of Federal land in the State of Arizona, generally depicted on the Map as <quote>Federal Mineral Estate to be Withdrawn</quote>, including any land or interest in land that is acquired by the United States after the date of the enactment of this Act, are hereby withdrawn from—</text><paragraph id="H92CAAD9F0F644D658667335BD7D90D90"><enum>(1)</enum><text>all forms of entry, appropriation, and disposal under the public land laws;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="H6ECB6E6A490D4116ABCA6F0AA14A1588"><enum>(2)</enum><text>location, entry, and patent under the mining laws; and </text></paragraph><paragraph id="H54BAB340F7F94843B39707DC47336ED2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>operation of the mineral leasing, mineral materials, and geothermal leasing laws.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HCCA84943C85C4A4EA9ED996F29C826E6"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Availability of Map</header><text>The Map shall be kept on file and made available for public inspection in the appropriate offices of the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
