 <section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Gun Owner Registration Information Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="idA9BFE0BC01E948A1B7939B4F18D3D7D9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on Federal funding of State firearm ownership databases</header>
 <subsection id="id68FE5EBF0324471CBC5EAD1A5DFE2A5D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="id791C5A4113004E71B2C95A02FBF0A0E6"><enum>(1)</enum><header>State</header><text>The term <term>State</term> means each of the several States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the United States Virgin Islands, and any other territory or possession of the United States.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id7C2F25D4DB47433C8BCB5D22D1C8E509"><enum>(2)</enum><header>State firearm ownership database</header><text>The term <term>State firearm ownership database</term> means a comprehensive or partial database of a State or political subdivision of a State that lists—</text>
 <subparagraph id="idFBA1EE5402C7415B8C1195817F65B7BB"><enum>(A)</enum><text>firearms lawfully owned or possessed by individuals; or</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="idC1CF1893B8BC4402A5870665B2B22E78"><enum>(B)</enum><text>individuals who lawfully own or possess firearms.</text>
 </subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id349D59AE03AC436CB370EFF816C6B6F0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>A Federal agency may not fund or otherwise support the establishment or maintenance of a State firearm ownership database.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="id2F4DAA8BD2D042DDB38911D8FBF285AC"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>Subsection (b) shall not apply to a database of a State or political subdivision of a State that lists—</text>
 <paragraph id="idCC1F49030E1C4CC4B1A52D6CD7321330"><enum>(1)</enum><text>firearms that have been reported as lost or stolen; or</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="id9192BAA24849440CA7B173EDB6470584"><enum>(2)</enum><text>individuals who have reported their firearms as lost or stolen.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
