		<section id="ID5CBFDFADC026421599F01E2B9B252067" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Permanent resident status for
			 Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical</header>
			<subsection id="IDEC95E23F89054CA9B1F9344EFDB9F260"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
 general</header><text>Notwithstanding subsections (a) and (b) of section 201 of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1151">8 U.S.C. 1151</external-xref>) and section 240 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1229a">8 U.S.C. 1229a</external-xref>), Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical shall be eligible for the issuance of an immigrant visa or for adjustment of status to that of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence upon filing an application for issuance of an immigrant visa under section 204 of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1154">8 U.S.C. 1154</external-xref>) or for adjustment of status to lawful permanent resident.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="ID1A854382FE8B48E19E4B57D453B78805"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Adjustment of
 status</header><text>If Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical enters the United States before the filing deadline specified in subsection (c), Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical shall be considered to have entered into and remained lawfully in the United States and, if otherwise eligible, shall be eligible for adjustment of status under section 245 of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1255">8 U.S.C. 1255</external-xref>) as of the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="ID9E453B9D101B4C54B43717059855CE54"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Deadline for
 application and payment of fees</header><text>Subsections (a) and (b) shall apply only if the application for issuance of an immigrant visa or for adjustment of status is filed by Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical with appropriate fees not later than 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID17696DDEFE1941C79BBB22E4FC4B3E21"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Reduction of
 immigrant visa number</header><text>Upon the granting of an immigrant visa or permanent residence to Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper officer to reduce by 1, during the current or next following fiscal year, the total number of immigrant visas that are made available to natives of the country of Alemseghed Mussie Tesfamical’s birth under section 203(a) of the <act-name parsable-cite="INA">Immigration and Nationality Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1153">8 U.S.C. 1153(a)</external-xref>) or, if applicable, the total number of immigrant visas that are made available to natives of such country under section 202(e) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1152">8 U.S.C. 1152(e)</external-xref>).</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="ID510a1b52f74d4eb8bc82196b99cbed22"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Budgetary
 effects</header><text>The budgetary effects of this Act, for the purpose of complying with the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act of 2010 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/111/139">Public Law 111–139</external-xref>), shall be determined by reference to the latest statement titled <quote>Budgetary Effects of PAYGO Legislation</quote> for this Act, submitted for printing in the Congressional Record by the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate, provided that such statement has been submitted prior to the vote on passage.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
