		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header>
 <text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Acadia National Park Boundary Clarification Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
 </section><section id="idB223322C1F2641BEB3D073A775ABC4EB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Acadia National Park boundary clarification</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 101 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/99/420">Public Law 99–420</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/341">16 U.S.C. 341</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> <paragraph id="ida0a187a4-c63f-49af-a6fb-f4a20c08b840"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in the first sentence, by striking <quote>In order to</quote> and inserting the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idec211beb-7643-47d7-95a4-a5338f097aa7" style="OLC">
 <subsection id="id41e4d069-52b0-44a7-bd78-cfe4cc876685"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Boundaries</header><text>Subject to subsections (b) and (c)(2), to</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph><paragraph id="ide05c013b-899b-4606-af2a-93eb906112d7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the second sentence—</text>
 <subparagraph id="id2e7ba1b7-3a9f-43d8-8aec-487b8c6e005c"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>The map shall be on file</quote> and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="iddf0e3585-5392-4f09-a603-d975df95a668" style="OLC"> <subsection id="id3b05e14a-1891-4ce3-a1f7-8e95c7a9c3c0"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Availability and revisions of maps</header> <paragraph id="id7b15ffea-c23c-44fd-8d3b-f18a7101441c"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Availability</header><text>The map, together with the map described in subsection (b)(1) and any revised boundary map published under paragraph (2), if applicable, shall be—</text>
 <subparagraph id="id46d759a4-b551-4b11-9a58-c80f810e9263"><enum>(A)</enum><text>on file</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="id0a6a8c23-054d-4cbf-b5f0-970e78f77c87"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>Interior, and it shall be made</quote> and inserting the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="id5cb6556d-47a6-4933-b6bf-0b3245e32978" style="OLC">
 <text>Interior; and</text><subparagraph id="id24ea5262-d75b-4f70-a459-e0655fc8cef0"><enum>(B)</enum><text>made</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idbbf0c79a-cec5-4c4f-843b-3edc4f1c5458"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (a) (as designated by paragraph (1)) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide94c50cd-be51-4ef2-a6a7-9f304623d45d" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="id0e1ce87a-a86a-4ff5-9d13-389d3c0038c3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Schoodic Peninsula addition</header>
 <paragraph id="idde34721b-023c-4c91-8625-33679e413081"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The boundary of the Park is confirmed to include approximately 1,441 acres of land and interests in land, as depicted on the map entitled <quote>Acadia National Park, Hancock County, Maine, Schoodic Peninsula Boundary Revision</quote>, numbered 123/129102, and dated July 10, 2015.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idb409df92-4f56-4f05-ae06-54e5a6be16f1"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Ratification and approval of acquisitions of land</header><text>Congress ratifies and approves—</text> <subparagraph id="id9b760b04-4b73-446d-a8c9-403888e2503c"><enum>(A)</enum><text>effective as of September 26, 2013, the acquisition by the United States of the land and interests in the land described in paragraph (1); and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="idcd91c2b2-3e29-4e9a-a437-49ad8b1fbd27"><enum>(B)</enum><text>effective as of the date on which the alteration occurred, any alteration of the land or interests in the land described in paragraph (1) that is held or claimed by the United States (including conversion of the land to fee simple interest) that occurred after the date described in subparagraph (A).</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idca97d602-cab6-49b8-acd8-e8dadc0b76f9"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in subsection (c) (as designated by paragraph (2)(A)), by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id71172eda-3ab8-4bd0-9a42-177866b59276" style="OLC"> <paragraph id="id72cc2b5a-57b2-4a08-8e09-c78dc19b828d"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Technical and limited revisions</header><text>Subject to section 102(k), notwithstanding any other provision of this section, the Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this title as the <term>Secretary</term>), by publication in the Federal Register of a revised boundary map or other description, may make—</text>
 <subparagraph id="id3f6eb5f7-7926-4424-a453-510566b1d1c4"><enum>(A)</enum><text>such technical boundary revisions as the Secretary determines to be appropriate to the permanent boundaries of the Park (including any property of the Park located within the Schoodic Peninsula and Isle Au Haut districts) to resolve issues resulting from causes such as survey error or changed road alignments; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="idc25d2cfe-a6da-40a3-a01f-92ffa63710b3"><enum>(B)</enum><text>such limited boundary revisions as the Secretary determines to be appropriate to the permanent boundaries of the Park to take into account acquisitions or losses, by exchange, donation, or purchase from willing sellers using donated or appropriated funds, of land adjacent to or within the Park, respectively, in any case in which the total acreage of the land to be so acquired or lost is less than 10 acres, subject to the condition that—</text>
 <clause id="id1a0bec69-b44d-4b66-b85a-6bf9374577ea"><enum>(i)</enum><text>any such boundary revision shall not be a part of a more-comprehensive boundary revision; and</text> </clause><clause id="id59a7d428-f418-4a5d-93e4-c176c9060e2c"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>all such boundary revisions, considered collectively with any technical boundary revisions made pursuant to subparagraph (A), do not increase the size of the Park by more than a total of 100 acres, as compared to the size of the Park on the date of enactment of this paragraph.</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id36ea2ddb-3824-4bbd-b347-ced64c2afb16"><enum>3.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Limitation on acquisitions of land for Acadia National Park</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 102 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/99/420">Public Law 99–420</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/341">16 U.S.C. 341</external-xref> note) is amended—</text> <paragraph id="idf78e43a1-d0ab-42b5-b3ac-d7a8e6077463"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>of the Interior (hereinafter in this title referred to as <term>the Secretary</term>)</quote>;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id1610892b-30ef-49ab-b538-5bcf056bd472"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (d)(1), in the first sentence, by striking <quote>the the</quote> and inserting <quote>the</quote>;</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="id5ba99ad3-e9f3-45d4-b236-4f3690eb21a6"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (k)—</text>
 <subparagraph id="id6888431a-a25e-4247-84e3-9c02d59484d6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by redesignating the subsection as paragraph (4) and indenting the paragraph appropriately; and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="ide9f99aca-bb0b-4622-a14e-92a51978d06b"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by moving the paragraph so as to appear at the end of subsection (b); and</text>
 </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="id1346727a-e91f-4899-98f8-d0426497e82c"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idc5e9613c-617f-41b9-ae6f-ed55dd60aea0" style="OLC"> <subsection id="idb67c160d-2eb0-4454-bb1a-c238c55ea5a0"><enum>(k)</enum><header>Requirements</header><text>Before revising the boundaries of the Park pursuant to this section or section 101(c)(2)(B), the Secretary shall—</text>
 <paragraph id="ida1928036-58b4-4f55-97e9-911586a72a5e"><enum>(1)</enum><text>certify that the proposed boundary revision will contribute to, and is necessary for, the proper preservation, protection, interpretation, or management of the Park;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id6cd1dd35-1811-4e00-9663-08152ee347ce"><enum>(2)</enum><text>consult with the governing body of each county, city, town, or other jurisdiction with primary taxing authority over the land or interest in land to be acquired regarding the impacts of the proposed boundary revision;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id994d5221-9d34-4178-8a4b-c32e5a42e53c"><enum>(3)</enum><text>obtain from each property owner the land or interest in land of which is proposed to be acquired for, or lost from, the Park written consent for the proposed boundary revision; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id32c2dfab-b189-4c01-a7d9-a227009a684c"><enum>(4)</enum><text>submit to the Acadia National Park Advisory Commission established by section 103(a), the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives, the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate, and the Maine Congressional Delegation a written notice of the proposed boundary revision.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id7e22f0b0-1d01-4899-8c3c-5e1de1c0bf96"><enum>(l)</enum><header>Limitation</header><text>The Secretary may not use the authority provided by section 100506 of title 54, United States Code, to adjust the permanent boundaries of the Park pursuant to this title.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph></section><section id="id8c3268df-21ad-4dba-ac36-829be3169213"><enum>4.</enum><header>Acadia National Park Advisory Commission</header>
 <subsection id="id92699603-94b5-4b85-804f-ce20398f2339"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall reestablish and appoint members to the Acadia National Park Advisory Commission in accordance with section 103 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/99/420">Public Law 99–420</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/341">16 U.S.C. 341</external-xref> note).</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="id8f6851b2-42e9-4ad9-9170-5f260725ce27"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendment</header><text>Section 103 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/99/420">Public Law 99–420</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/341">16 U.S.C. 341</external-xref> note) is amended by striking subsection (f).</text>
 </subsection></section><section id="idd833d39a-4710-4a8d-94c1-7f53769a0dd8"><enum>5.</enum><header>Repeal of certain provisions relating to Acadia National Park</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The following are repealed:</text> <paragraph id="id71c260bf-fe85-4431-8a8e-05fdfddebb47"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Section 3 of the Act of February 26, 1919 (40 Stat. 1178, chapter 45).</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idcd435be4-4dd9-4495-8255-cd0946f036b0"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The first section of the Act of January 19, 1929 (45 Stat. 1083, chapter 77).</text> </paragraph></section><section id="id08f2ca0b-f86d-4d11-a439-a34d511ec427"><enum>6.</enum><header>Modification of use restriction</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Act of August 1, 1950 (64 Stat. 383, chapter 511), is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="id5c18b0d9-a91f-411c-9d43-15c33e6a84ed"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>That the Secretary</quote> and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id48763970-0976-400b-88b6-330479cfe2d4" style="OLC"> <section id="id9385dcdf-c398-4661-9b0a-5506b4b1df0f" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Conveyance of land in Acadia National Park</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Secretary</text></section><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id06cc3cca-d6f8-422c-a07a-68cedb785036"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>for school purposes</quote> and inserting <quote>for public purposes, subject to the conditions that use of the land shall not degrade or adversely impact the resources or values of Acadia National Park and that the land shall remain in public ownership for recreational, educational, or similar public purposes</quote>.</text>
 </paragraph></section><section id="id7D312F4998874081872CD5C2485605D7"><enum>7.</enum><header>Continuation of certain traditional uses</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Title I of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/99/420">Public Law 99–420</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/341">16 U.S.C. 341</external-xref> note) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id41A0F85F91CC42308887CF0BE2C14D6B" style="OLC">
				<section id="id7d71ea423a7940c3be8e3c6fa40953ca"><enum>109.</enum><header>Continuation of certain traditional uses</header>
 <subsection id="id35e1790205b4465081c5fb2a92283571"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="idb2c663f299fa4ffb89cdef400abc3268"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Land within the park</header><text>The term <term>land within the Park</term> means land owned or controlled by the United States—</text>
 <subparagraph id="id3ee8afdad5af443a921eddc7384d2449"><enum>(A)</enum><text>that is within the boundary of the Park established by section 101; or</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="id238066BB4C45458B8CAD48DD12510809"><enum>(B)</enum><clause commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="idB1E6AB31BA6648E4AC45B42CBA9A3B7B"><enum>(i)</enum><text>that is outside the boundary of the Park; and</text>
 </clause><clause id="idA775FED13783446580584064C8A6778D" indent="up1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>in which the Secretary has or acquires a property interest or conservation easement pursuant to this title.</text>
 </clause></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idf07a66ef241046a9b685c3458ec975f8"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Marine species; marine worm; shellfish</header><text>The terms <term>marine species</term>, <term>marine worm</term>, and <term>shellfish</term> have the meanings given those terms in section 6001 of title 12 of the Maine Revised Statutes (as in effect on the date of enactment of this section).</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idE64CF8F8A2A346ADB6BD15076C58E12B"><enum>(3)</enum><header>State law</header><text>The term <term>State law</term> means the law (including regulations) of the State of Maine, including the common law.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="id5340d9cac7514cbabbf47aca2a2bf1b7"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Taking</header><text>The term <term>taking</term> means the removal or attempted removal of a marine species, marine worm, or shellfish from the natural habitat of the marine species, marine worm, or shellfish.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idCFD5812E74954BCA9586ED42FD4EB336"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Continuation of traditional uses</header><text>The Secretary shall allow for the traditional taking of marine species, marine worms, and shellfish, on land within the Park between the mean high watermark and the mean low watermark in accordance with State law.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
		</section><section id="idcd719749-0bbd-491d-bf39-c34a3818070c"><enum>8.</enum><header>Conveyance of certain land in Acadia National Park to the Town of Bar Harbor, Maine</header>
 <subsection id="id690fd5cb-0b3b-416f-884b-827fe5c02d29"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall convey to the Town of Bar Harbor all right, title, and interest of the United States in and to the .29-acre parcel of land in Acadia National Park identified as lot 110–055–000 on the tax map of the Town of Bar Harbor for section 110, dated April 1, 2015, to be used for a solid waste transfer facility.</text>
 </subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ide85420b2-b523-4198-bff3-17419fe8f523"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reversion</header><text>If the land conveyed under subsection (a) is used for a purpose other than the purpose described in that subsection, the land shall, at the discretion of the Secretary, revert to the United States.</text>
