	<preamble>
 <whereas><text>Whereas President John F. Kennedy first designated May 15, 1963, as Peace Officers Memorial Day;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas it is important to celebrate the estimated 850,000 law enforcement members serving and protecting our country;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas members of law enforcement create strong security for communities across the United States, providing support at all hours of the day and night;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas members of law enforcement perform a wide range of responsibilities that varies from stabilizing hostile situations to responding to dangerous and unforgiving natural disasters;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas law enforcement officers often put themselves in harm’s way for others;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas there have been times of tragedy when members of law enforcement have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty; and</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas this level of dedication to communities across the United States should be recognized and valued: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble>

 <section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H7CD2C92A733748D8AD4D84D0F750EC62" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives—</text> <paragraph id="H9D13C705E0DD423AA4168DBCE56D81FB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>acknowledges and honors members of law enforcement for their service to the United States;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H47B103E8B3974CCDA11BAE2E69BFD120"><enum>(2)</enum><text>supports the mission of law enforcement agencies to keep our communities safe; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H63F91F7EFC574E10AA9704577A786C9B"><enum>(3)</enum><text>celebrates the officers and agents who make a positive difference in our country.</text>
