	<preamble>
 <whereas><text>Whereas, in 2017, an estimated 10,874 people were killed in the United States in drunk driving crashes involving a driver with a BAC of .08 or greater, impacting countless family members, friends, and communities;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas, in 2017, one person died in a drunk driving crash on average every 48 minutes;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas, in 2017, about 7,400,000 Americans between the ages of 12 to 20, nearly 20 percent of the age group for whom alcohol consumption is illegal, reported consuming alcohol in the past 30 days;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas research shows that a lifetime of conversations between parents and their children about alcohol, beginning at an early age, can help prevent underage drinking and alcohol abuse;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas the potential danger for young people to be involved in alcohol-related crashes escalates during prom and graduation season;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas many State attorneys general are launching underage drinking prevention messages and programs in their States and communities; and</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas April has been dedicated to alcohol awareness since 1987 and more than awareness is needed to further reduce drunk driving and underage drinking: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble>
	<resolution-body id="H765CA1C1204144458119CDEA212FB069" style="traditional">
 <section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HD5672566D65F4ED78AA1C4F829AB6248" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text>That the House of Representatives—</text> <paragraph id="H28A6DD3240BE48F5BD6CDC1522C6CAFF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">supports the designation of <quote>Alcohol Responsibility Month</quote> and supports the goals and ideals of responsible decisions regarding alcohol;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H5C638DAEA78D45C887179E3165769934"><enum>(2)</enum><text>encourages parents to be responsible role models and to have ongoing conversations about the dangers of alcohol abuse throughout their children’s childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H9686E2D56D40428580B13792B943767F"><enum>(3)</enum><text>condemns the pervasiveness of alcohol-impaired driving and tragedy; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H09BDE24B56DA483FA482F014FD24FF95"><enum>(4)</enum><text>promotes the responsible consumption of alcohol by adults in the United States.</text>
