<section id="HCDAF2A140BFE42E3A4C70118537127E4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Debbie Smith Reauthorization Act of 2019</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H71ABC0DAC8E14C35945DA63B65310E98"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reauthorization</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2 of the DNA Analysis Backlog Elimination Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/40701">34 U.S.C. 40701</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3D05A883C7734858BD3E30D8C27964BD"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (a)—</text> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H4C4F2816699C487499F02A21B03F9D25"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (2), by striking <quote>including</quote> and inserting <quote>prioritizing, to the extent practicable consistent with public safety considerations</quote>; and</text> </subparagraph> 
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HBF4EE9950F894F8AB0BD3F494E7194D0"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (8), by striking <quote>including</quote> and inserting <quote>in particular,</quote>;</text> </subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC27068F5D7804C8E9EC462CEBB9AA1BC"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subsection (b)—</text> 
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H677253802F38403E91A9B128CF89B1F4"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (6), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text> </subparagraph> <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H925B296FC1EB4E8A80C4E9B7A80F1A47"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (7), by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text> </subparagraph> 
<subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H079E6A5404F54280BBE363D3D680089F"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H402D94EF9BAC44AB864F0ECA2B03ADAD" style="OLC"> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1AA75F1DF4DD4A2B9FB3C6633212A346"><enum>(8)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">provide assurances that the DNA section of the laboratory to be used to conduct DNA analyses has a written policy that prioritizes the analysis of, to the extent practicable consistent with public safety considerations, samples from homicides and sexual assaults.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>; </after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subparagraph></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H517F7EBAFAF44F3C95F34A091BB674F4"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subsection (c)(3)—</text> <subparagraph id="HCA3A5F019DA048E4BBB20257341E4305"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>2014 through 2019</quote> and inserting <quote>2019 through 2024</quote>; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H23F042BAC5EA42019EE2A80B6E0208FB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C), by striking <quote>2014 through 2019</quote> and inserting <quote>2019 through 2024</quote>; and</text></subparagraph></paragraph> <paragraph id="HB0F5E873C93340D5914C1A4A0BE8D8C7"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in subsection (j), by striking <quote>2015 through 2019</quote> and inserting <quote>2019 through 2024</quote>.</text></paragraph></section> 
<section id="H70B1EDB144B846FABE444DE7F0207C7A"><enum>3.</enum><header>Training and education</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 303(b) of the DNA Sexual Assault Justice Act of 2004 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/40722">34 U.S.C. 40722(b)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2015 through 2019</quote> and inserting <quote>2019 through 2024</quote>.</text></section> <section id="H7EC3A1C992C8421F8293EAA41425CBFD"><enum>4.</enum><header>Sexual assault forensic exam grants</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 304(d) of the DNA Sexual Assault Justice Act of 2004 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/40723">34 U.S.C. 40723(d)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>2015 through 2019</quote> and inserting <quote>2019 through 2024</quote>.</text></section>
