<official-title display="yes">To amend the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act of 2016 to provide flexibility with respect to the leaseback of certain Federal real property, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HDDFDA9254D1A4BE6AED9565A2D4764C7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Leaseback restriction</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 12(b)(4) of the Federal Assets Sale and Transfer Act of 2016 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/40/1303">40 U.S.C. 1303</external-xref> note; <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/287">Public Law 114–287</external-xref>) is amended—</text> <paragraph id="H4B5414F068C2441BA87C539CB681C933"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting <quote>for a period of greater than 3 years</quote> before the period at the end;</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HE7CEE41EEB644BF9A694E7E02C7A2C13"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking <quote>None of the</quote> and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB91A518CAE404C25A5A4178091D8A35A" style="OLC"> <subparagraph id="H21BBE1BDC2DD427FA36C0D719F9EC0F8"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text>None of the</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD15A09A05F824214ADC2C918FB7FA466"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8E2A84DFFE5B4D8CB2F57173256DAA19" style="OLC"> <subparagraph id="HFBA88CA434AA49989662DC6394545572"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Requirements</header><text>A leaseback under this paragraph—</text> 
<clause id="HD85AC90485D64744A306E0E00F3DCDE8"><enum>(i)</enum><text>shall expire on or before the last day of the 3-year period beginning on the date of the sale of the respective property;</text> </clause> <clause id="H238FD30CF79D472387FF5B1C7F088D8A"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>may not contain any options to extend or renew the leaseback;</text> </clause> 
<clause id="H4CAA0276C68E4001B7C9DFE8C7473F9C"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>may only be entered into once for purposes of temporarily housing the Federal agency in the property at the time of the sale; and</text> </clause> <clause id="H49BE48559589410D8A773A2AF47696E8"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>shall only be for the purpose of facilitating the sale of the respective property.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
