	<legis-body id="HD33C40181A154D0C90F4D1BB5162EB62" style="OLC">
 <section id="HA0A0D6CD3F11448BA57CF0921FA29FAA" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Combat Violent Crime Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H5EF4DD4CAC95459C936BDBFECEA2A9A5"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment to the definition of crime of violence</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 924(c)(3)(B) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text>
 <subsection id="H1D2583AC332F4524ACCC244B33AD4C0A"><enum>(a)</enum><text>by striking <quote>by its nature, involves</quote> and inserting <quote>, based on the facts underlying the offense, involved</quote>; and</text> </subsection><subsection id="HB0D17C88E5B641C2A718B06519B3B876"><enum>(b)</enum><text>by striking <quote>may be used</quote> and inserting <quote>may have been used</quote>.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="HFA013B38B4EC42B8B39E54D607BA3830"><enum>3.</enum><header>Application</header>
 <subsection id="H86A37ECF053F49FCB8593415F5EEE7EE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by this Act shall apply to any offense committed on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H732E4E11B22B47DEAB690CD110D4AFE8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Rule of construction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by this Act shall not be construed to create any right to challenge a sentence imposed before the date of the enactment of this Act under section 924 of title 18, United States Code.</text>
