 <section id="HE3272E79628C485D9B28EC31A4BC2BC8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Trade in Schools Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H588460739F574C088ECBDC8EB960AD1C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Career and technical education for STEM teachers</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 420N(a) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1070g-2">20 U.S.C. 1070g–2(a)(2)(B)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="H69B86D7D1C6A4905B73C622CED6BDD79"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (2)(B)(i), by inserting <quote>career and technical education (defined in section 3 of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/2302">20 U.S.C. 2302</external-xref>)),</quote> after <quote>acquisition,</quote>; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H4D0EED75750A4B2A924AFC53ED80C86D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H76742CE1ED7F4C039B7D86C76D43DA02" style="OLC"> <paragraph id="HF36C7A1BE714493E82916E29D77A0EC7"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Priority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In selecting teacher candidates under this section, the Secretary shall give priority to applicants who are members of a group that is underrepresented in teaching subjects related to science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or other technology.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph></section><section id="H212DA67C4CAA440B97C47A2FF35A8E02"><enum>3.</enum><header>STEM Master teacher corps</header>
 <subsection id="H5C2FF5A57C4248CBB6160CEFB79D705C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Funding allotment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2241(4) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/6671">20 U.S.C. 6671(4)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>may reserve not more than 2 percent</quote> and inserting <quote>an amount equal to $10,000,000</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H5A3B107B82D940FFAE4073D35B11AE84"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Private sector advisory board</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2245 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/6675">20 U.S.C. 6675</external-xref>) is amended—</text> <paragraph id="HDA43CB0289594652AA633C9561C2AEA9"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)(2), by inserting <quote>one or more local educational agencies</quote> before <quote>or nonprofit</quote>; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H24392CCC7B7A4FE5A17D8691C48C35DE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (b)—</text> <subparagraph id="HF0DAA08BE3394FFEA2005F3BE1A81389"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end of paragraph (2);</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5ACD9F17C55A4BE588EBB1B8751AAD25"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking the period at the end of paragraph (3) and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDB5E831B429A473FB9A7B638971794D5"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following:</text>
						<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6A24A61DA09F4748B149FEB0D1EF9B1F" style="OLC">
 <paragraph id="H9DE2455824144A97AC315CD85EC8B4F4"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">establishing and consulting with a private sector advisory board that—</text> <subparagraph id="HD671B5C6308941E58CF3007D0C9C953D"><enum>(A)</enum><text>consists of industry leaders representative of the economic interests of the region to be served by the teacher corps, and teachers who have not less than 10 years of teaching experience; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD7437499C9C74CD79647B563BCE7D60A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>serves a local educational agency of not less than 500 students.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
