<section id="H8E12E38819D84A2DA23D86D92B9AB7F3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Historical Record Exemption Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H290AED3DFB1E4114B96ABE0B184005F4" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Correction of historical military records</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1552(b) of title 10, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H770F90C048C9496D912118941EC58A81"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>No</quote> and inserting <quote><header-in-text level="paragraph" style="USC"><enum-in-header>(1) </enum-in-header></header-in-text>Subject to paragraph (2), no</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H83F3334EFDD241F7800A0E473915E8E9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>

<paragraph id="HECD60530C8454CEC9D5D91AB97468C39" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A correction may be made under subsection (a)(1) if the Secretary concerned or a person the Secretary concerned determines has a vested interest in the military record files a request for the correction more than 175 years after the date of the creation of the military record.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section> </legis-body></bill>
