			 governments in regard to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
			 program.</official-title></form>

 <section id="H001B1B9E9271482C96B40EB873DF8060" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Tribal TANF Fairness Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H4C2DF97519B7499EBA98895DE98AC490"><enum>2.</enum><header>Self-determination authority</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 412 of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/612">42 U.S.C. 612</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC444A5ED39F54087B18EBDED4DC00CC0" style="OLC">
 <subsection id="HF73CFBD161114B11AF570E2793813700"><enum>(j)</enum><header>Rule of interpretation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding subsection (e)(1), a tribal government (including a tribal government participating in an intertribal consortium) may lease land held in trust or in fee, at a fair market rate (as verified by an independent appraisal prepared in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice), for the administration of a tribal family assistance grant by the tribal government or the intertribal consortium.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
