<official-title display="yes">To amend title 23, United States Code, to require a life-cycle cost analysis for certain projects, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="H5ADBCB7C80B940DE9DAB6DA921BA8306" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Preserving America’s Infrastructure Dollars Act of 2018</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>PAID Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H37EA5B76F09947B68D6E0E9FCED90118"><enum>2.</enum><header>Life-cycle cost analysis</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 106(f) of title 23, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H23F6EB9A59544371A79BBEDDA059051F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (1) by striking the third sentence; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="H20C412A499284391A957ED2714F8F1B1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<paragraph id="HE89DACC9781C4897ADAA5A4B4084A372"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">On and after the first day of the first fiscal year beginning after the date of enactment of this paragraph, the Secretary shall require each State to conduct a life-cycle cost analysis for each project of the State that—</text> <subparagraph id="H7B8720C157FE49D3B590171D62A8818E"><enum>(A)</enum><text>receives Federal financial assistance pursuant to this title; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H8E47CA4866874F9481155BFFD2875D61"><enum>(B)</enum><text>has an estimated total cost of $30,000,000 or more.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section> </legis-body> </bill>
