<section id="H56C2C549FB744B3E904F52BFB6417402" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Local Task Forces on 21st Century Policing Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H0F0BD25DE5CE4D8E94608DDE25E6082B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Use of funds to establish task forces</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 501(a)(1) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/34/10152">34 U.S.C. 10152(a)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H1DAEB727BBA74B3EABB20152A5B39E7E" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subparagraph id="H4BECC249644C47EA9FA2979B8181C00E"><enum>(I)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The establishment of a task force, composed of individuals with relevant experience or subject-matter expertise in law enforcement, civil rights, and civil liberties, which shall identify the best ways to create an effective partnership between law enforcement officers of a unit of local government and the community those officers serve that reduces crime and increases trust.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> </legis-body> </bill>
