<official-title display="yes">To amend Immigration and Nationality Act regarding the extension of a foreign state’s designation for purposes of temporary protected status, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section id="HD24EFFE630A84E27A18179D50D14CF8A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>TPS Process Reform Act</short-title></quote>.</text></section> <section id="H6C3AFE739CAE47B9B6302194F12A54C2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extensions of designations of TPS countries</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 244(b)(3) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1254a">8 U.S.C. 1254a(b)(3)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H7E595668733E4B879AA5574C93DB87DD"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking <quote>determines</quote> and inserting <quote>determines or makes no determination</quote>; and</text></paragraph> <paragraph id="HEFDC45C14653402A8B754EEA42D688B2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by amending subparagraph (C) to read as follows: </text>

<subparagraph id="H6840C691A5A54556909AA2BD85DACE4F"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Extension of designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If the Attorney General determines under subparagraph (A) that a foreign state (or part of such foreign state) continues to meet the conditions for designation under paragraph (1), the period of designation of the foreign state is extended for an additional period of 6 months (or, in the discretion of the Attorney General, a period of 12 or 18 months).</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section> </legis-body> </bill>
