 <section id="HBFF8D86A4BFD4D1CA138ED92F0F6B299" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Secure Communities and Safe Schools Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HD20B4E82E2D4467F97A45830D891BD42"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition on expenditure of certain Homeland Security grant funds to purchase firearms</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Subsection (b) of section 2008 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/609">6 U.S.C. 609</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text>

 <paragraph id="H1CDC86004F4D4F55846D1688035968E3"><enum>(6)</enum><header>Firearms</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A grant awarded under section 2003 or 2004 may not be used to purchase firearms and firearms accessories, such as ammunition, including for use by teachers.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
