 <section id="H01971E19102342CC82DEA06E6894275D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Free Veterans from Fees Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HFB93D2F0C1E44CA2A8F6636325BD5525"><enum>2.</enum><header>Waiver of Special Use Permit Application Fee for Veterans demonstrations and special Events</header> <subsection id="H63ED16FC10C446FFA3A80247772E4606"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Waiver</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The application fee for any special use permit solely for a veterans demonstration or special event at war memorials on Federal land shall be waived.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="HC0C44A1A43E743BC8BA515AF4FF31823"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this section:</text> <paragraph id="H4A60BE1F0913453EA63FAB4E86601039"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Demonstration; Special event</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The terms <term>demonstration</term> and <term>special event</term> have the meaning given those terms in section 7.96 of title 36, Code of Federal Regulations.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE5C0BBC6894547799461E84022A1319E"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Veteran</header><text>The term <term>veteran</term> has the meaning given that term in section 101(2) of title 38, United States Code.</text> </paragraph><paragraph commented="no" id="H5BD43AB7A60C4F46BD2BC36A51F58B76"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Veterans demonstration or special event</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>veterans demonstration or special event</term> means a demonstration or special event whose primary purpose is to commemorate, or honor either a group of people because of their service as veterans or immediate family members of veterans.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HE93F8F4BC90746B1B973908196AC9174"><enum>(4)</enum><header>War memorial</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>war memorial</term> means any tangible object which has been erected or dedicated to commemorate—</text> <subparagraph id="H03F98FA48F62451FAF95C223325DB61D"><enum>(A)</enum><text>war, conflict, victory, or peace;</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3A6FFDF4B86A4DB19057EC7FCAD3DAB0"><enum>(B)</enum><text>casualties who served in, were affected by, or killed as a result of war, conflict, or peacekeeping; or</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H65C25CF1A4754F5BA24D965BEF15AF6F"><enum>(C)</enum><text>those who died as a result of accident or disease while engaged in military service.</text> </subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" id="H2293B98EB63F43C79E7A923937A50CD6"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>This section shall apply to any special use permit application submitted after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H65B37954556A4B8EA0F81557EF651652"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Applicability of existing laws</header><text>Permit applicants remain subject to all other laws, regulations, and policies regarding the application, issuance and execution of special use permits for a veterans demonstration or special event at war memorials on Federal land.</text>
			</subsection></section></legis-body>
