 <section id="HF298C14FD1584688AABF2BBF4AF8AF8E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Northern Border Regional Commission Reauthorization Act of 2018</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HCFD55A618D164E94872179DDCE47F33A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Administrative expenses of regional commissions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 15304(c)(3)(A) of title 40, United States Code, is amended by striking <quote>unanimous</quote> and inserting <quote>majority</quote>.</text>
 </section><section id="H51AE9DC8538E4330A0F85B82D768CA69"><enum>3.</enum><header>Economic and infrastructure development grants</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 15501 of title 40, United States Code, is amended—</text> <paragraph id="H06AC71A395F24F02A1F5DE7EB2B7B7C8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (b) by striking <quote>paragraphs (1) through (3)</quote> and inserting <quote>paragraph (1), (2), (3), or (7)</quote>; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HCD6904953AA84642BB01113BF2270912"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subsection (f) by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>, except that financial assistance may be used as otherwise authorized by this subtitle to attract businesses to the region from outside the United States.</quote>.</text>
 </paragraph></section><section id="H41A7B01517BD497CA4F53FBFB3146712"><enum>4.</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 15751(a) of title 40, United States Code, is amended by striking <quote>2018</quote> and inserting <quote>2023</quote>.</text> </section><section id="H8461AD6F0BCD4626AE9AFDD2A7D306D3"><enum>5.</enum><header>Technical amendments</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 of subtitle V of title 40, United States Code, are redesignated as chapters 151, 153, 155, and 157, respectively.</text>
 </section><section id="HCE9FFF7FFA5E4E58A53611550111AAC7"><enum>6.</enum><header>Vacancies</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 15301 of title 40, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text> <quoted-block changed="added" committee-id="HPW00" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC8F89C9C3FB74FF8993CE41175A9BD42" reported-display-style="italic" style="OLC"> <subsection id="H45F6AE0A6CBE4EB589162455AC352383"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Succession</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subject to the time limitations set forth in section 3346 of title 5, United States Code, the Federal Cochairperson may designate a Federal employee of the Commission to perform the functions and duties of the office of the Federal Cochairperson temporarily in an acting capacity if both the Federal Cochairperson and the alternate Federal Cochairperson die, resign, or otherwise are unable to perform the functions and duties of their offices.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
