<legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type> 
<official-title display="yes">To direct the Secretary of Energy to review and update a report on the energy and environmental benefits of the re-refining of used lubricating oil.</official-title>

<section id="H93DC648942ED4724910BF70A4B725A8C" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Energy savings from lubricating oil</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Energy, in cooperation with the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, shall—</text> <paragraph id="H615DA9CAC07941CCBC7541AD3AB05B66"><enum>(1)</enum><text>review and update the report prepared pursuant to section 1838 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005;</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HDCFF8C8C904E4FEE89A28F16BFFD9BCB"><enum>(2)</enum><text>after consultation with relevant Federal, State, and local agencies and affected industry and stakeholder groups, update data that was used in preparing that report; and</text> </paragraph> <paragraph id="H19B78F1A6C4D4AD5B9B05B1C5ED81E1B"><enum>(3)</enum><text>prepare and submit to Congress a coordinated Federal strategy to increase the beneficial reuse of used lubricating oil, that—</text> 
<subparagraph id="HC7DE0A7B62584962B9967ADC2CA35749"><enum>(A)</enum><text>is consistent with national policy as established pursuant to section 2 of the Used Oil Recycling Act of 1980 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/96/463">Public Law 96–463</external-xref>); and</text> </subparagraph> <subparagraph id="H7FFF5B7C987648F2BC60B68729289D7E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>addresses measures needed to—</text> 
<clause id="H826D59B881014F4FA0145FE3C64BABEC"><enum>(i)</enum><text>increase the responsible collection of used oil;</text> </clause> <clause id="HEBE69A43893D46C882E558CADBEDC502"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>disseminate public information concerning sustainable reuse options for used oil; and</text> </clause> 
<clause id="H69398FC9EFD247B297A94AC923E73A2F"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>promote sustainable reuse of used oil by Federal agencies, recipients of Federal grant funds, entities contracting with the Federal Government, and the general public.</text> </clause></subparagraph></paragraph></section> </legis-body> <attestation><attestation-group><role>Speaker of the House of Representatives.</role></attestation-group><attestation-group><role>Vice President of the United States and President of the Senate.</role></attestation-group></attestation> </bill>
