 <section id="HF35CBB3222B04A52AF34AF3DE8D22895" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>American Law Enforcement Heroes Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H68FEF85B05FB44C292890A8E020C4C0A"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prioritizing hiring and training of veterans</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1701(b)(2) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/3796dd">42 U.S.C. 3796dd(b)(2)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>, including by prioritizing the hiring and training of veterans (as defined in section 101 of title 38, United States Code)</quote> after <quote>Nation</quote>.</text></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>May 11, 2017</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
