			 for non-payment of premiums before discontinuing coverage under qualified
			 health plans with such grace periods provided for under State law.</official-title></form>

 <section id="H7A18DFD40DCB4ABE8684EC12178C8EB0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Health Coverage State Flexibility Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HEEF25850B69348D98F71788C1E7E7BF6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Aligning qualified health plan grace period requirements with State law grace period requirements</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1412(c)(2) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/18082">42 U.S.C. 18082(c)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="H33635AD33C2947CF9510A7C7CD557968"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B)(iv)(II), by striking <quote>a 3-month grace period</quote> and inserting <quote>a grace period specified in subparagraph (C)</quote>; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H938B7E1F28BF4226B3813AE0510A4D73"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7B7891EC70F444789D305C46E82C1EFE" style="OLC">
 <subparagraph id="H8F675368BD7F4EAABE92575C27C10235"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Grace period specified</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of subparagraph (B)(iv)(II), the grace period specified in this subparagraph is—</text> <clause id="HF67BD4C5207C4EC084C01C321B7B7588"><enum>(i)</enum><text>for plan years beginning before January 1, 2018, a 3-month grace period; and</text>
 </clause><clause id="HA306620201884E0AABA640B488184885"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">for plan years beginning during 2018 or a subsequent year, such grace period for non-payment of premiums before discontinuing coverage as is applicable under the State law of the State in which the Exchange operates to health insurance coverage offered in the individual market (or, in the case such a State law is not in place for the State involved, a 1-month grace period).</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
