<section id="HF902DF3AED1D404DA74A9D362EB4825F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Requests by private cemeteries for headstones or markers for graves of certain veterans of World War I</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 2306(d) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph:</text> <quoted-block style="USC" id="H96481221F48344948BCC5C47864E993C" display-inline="no-display-inline"> <paragraph id="H4E8FB0A8E434413BB6E4B1F5BAB1ADFE" indent="up1"><enum>(6)</enum> <subparagraph id="HA6F35AE5C47E483E9EEED0D18CC7DD4D" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum>(A)</enum><text>If the Secretary is unable to identify any next of kin of a deceased individual described in subparagraph (B), a private cemetery may request the Secretary to furnish—</text> 
<clause id="H3CBF3C817DFF4E26A0A0BE0BAF526A03" indent="up1"><enum>(i)</enum><text>a headstone or marker for the grave of the deceased individual pursuant to paragraph (1); or</text></clause> <clause id="H41F473741BAD4E38AF56B6C21CE941D7" indent="up1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a medallion or other device to signify the deceased individual's status as a veteran pursuant to paragraph (4).</text></clause></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H1ACEFBA4380D46398B1580E96991814A" indent="up1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>A deceased individual described in this subparagraph is an individual who—</text> <clause id="H8DB2C532391940CEBB36D79AFE474CA8"><enum>(i)</enum><text>served in the Armed Forces during World War I; and</text></clause> 
<clause id="HDAEA73D768CB4F4C9A8B022731D93D2C"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>is eligible for a headstone or marker furnished under paragraph (1) (or would be so eligible but for the date of the death of the individual).</text></clause></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </section> </legis-body></bill>
