			 their abusers from possessing or receiving firearms, and for other
			 purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="H17AE8EAA5CFF4B20AA526E5899F1987D" style="OLC">
 <section id="H4821257B4D034860BFC5B7A5C51A38FF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Lori Jackson Domestic Violence Survivor Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H5F28F53459324EAFA8883221A7C53336"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions of <quote>intimate partner</quote> and <quote>misdemeanor crime of domestic violence</quote> expanded</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 921(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="HB6C8A656685F4BBABCB34B848F0D9C2A"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (32)—</text> <subparagraph id="H358DCB55553949AC834A240630E1C867"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>and an individual</quote> and inserting <quote>an individual</quote>; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HED1092D574344707B5D7FCF1F740D3B9"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>, or a dating partner (as defined in section 2266) or former dating partner</quote> before the period at the end; and</text> </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HAFB0855A0C674D47AC543987BB15AFDD"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in paragraph (33)(A)(ii)—</text>
 <subparagraph id="HE2A9D5656C974DC3A9C2BD4EBA2F7B2B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>or by</quote> and inserting <quote>by</quote>; and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H87AF4BB365824F578C825FE2812AEBFC"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting <quote>, or by a dating partner (as defined in section 2266) or former dating partner of the victim</quote> before the period at the end.</text>
 </subparagraph></paragraph></section><section id="H063C12A5BF9A466BB971026B8ABCD980"><enum>3.</enum><header>Unlawful sale of firearm to a person subject to court order</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 922(d)(8) of title 18, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2F48863C3053499286FAE4FF4E8EF8E8" style="OLC"> <paragraph id="H7AC1F9F8C4634FA593C65A337EEC7C90"><enum>(8)</enum><text>is subject to a court order described in subsection (g)(8); or</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
		</section><section id="H919A59464544471196A41617550EE589"><enum>4.</enum><header>List of persons subject to a restraining or similar order prohibited from possessing or receiving a
 firearm expanded</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 922(g)(8) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—</text> <paragraph id="HBEE58AA6096B4ECE80829E42C535688E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>that</quote>;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H8709967FAAC24C24954F908625E9F68B"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking subparagraphs (A) and (B) and inserting the following:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HA957ADC06A324637BB8412066FE269D8" style="USC"> <subparagraph id="HD44F18706BF548ACB4E1C983F40E5B55"><enum>(A)</enum> <clause commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H313865B9F31F4B29975AE5F9AF4C62D8"><enum>(i)</enum><text>that was issued after a hearing of which such person received actual notice, and at which such person had an opportunity to participate; or</text>
 </clause><clause id="H3350D0D4742A41E780606F7BF8331E22" indent="up1"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>in the case of an ex parte order, relating to which notice and opportunity to be heard are provided—</text>
 <subclause id="H2D3D020E8F524BB09EDA60A7987412F0"><enum>(I)</enum><text>within the time required by State, tribal, or territorial law; and</text> </subclause><subclause id="HAD5A384A19BB4330AB20B775167DDFEF"><enum>(II)</enum><text>in any event within a reasonable time after the order is issued, sufficient to protect the due process rights of the person;</text>
 </subclause></clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2EAB160DB1F24DCAB097467B0B119961"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">that restrains such person from—</text> <clause id="HCAD09D1C487A4667AF22C612C3D977B3"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">harassing, stalking, threatening, or engaging in other conduct that would put an individual in reasonable fear of bodily injury to such individual, including an order that was issued at the request of an employer on behalf of its employee or at the request of an institution of higher education on behalf of its student; or</text>
 </clause><clause id="H14808E16F827483EB43356FCFB3591FB"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>intimidating or dissuading a witness from testifying in court; and</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and </after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph><paragraph id="HF5E5F9823BFD40C3A3C18789A3423703"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraph (C)—</text>
 <subparagraph id="HC6F42EB41FCC462EAC5B7A1B966AC5DE"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>intimate partner or child</quote> each place it appears and inserting <quote>individual described in subparagraph (B)</quote>;</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HFE503FC9965E4951B9D434AFA01A663A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in clause (i), by inserting <quote>that</quote> before <quote>includes</quote>; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H4AC7A9A6032A4A0E84AD254764E765B5"><enum>(C)</enum><text>in clause (ii), by inserting <quote>that</quote> before <quote>by its</quote>.</text> </subparagraph></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
