 <section id="HD2BBEA1202C04394A59A5E0E595A6AF2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Commercial Balloon Pilot Safety Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H97BB90B4BB3B4CAF88B774D929FDFB31"><enum>2.</enum><header>Applicability for medical certification standards to operators of air balloons</header> <subsection id="HB7273D9110824A249A5C6F623F2B5184"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration shall revise section 61.3(c) of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (relating to second-class medical certificates), to apply to an operator of an air balloon to the same extent such regulations apply to a pilot flight crewmember of other aircraft.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="HCC15B805B520410F998BFE853DD23F15"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Air balloon defined</header><text>In this Act, the term <quote>air balloon</quote> has the meaning given the term <quote>balloon</quote> in section 1.1 of title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (or any corresponding similar regulation or ruling).</text>
