			 provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned</action-desc></action><legis-type>A BILL</legis-type><official-title display="yes">To repeal <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/145">Public Law 114–145</external-xref> to ensure that the Drug Enforcement Administration has the authority
			 to carry out needed enforcement actions for drug diversion control
			 investigations and operations to combat the opioid epidemic.</official-title></form>

 <section id="H81545FBDE5E64F40BDEDA624DF389315" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Restoring Enforcement Standards to Track Opioids Responsively and Effectively Act of 2017</short-title></quote> or the <quote><short-title>RESTORE Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H27B35BB9590D4C0F831413CB6BCA345C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Restoring DEA’s authority to carry out needed enforcement actions to combat drug diversion and the opioid epidemic</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Effective as of the enactment of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/145">Public Law 114–145</external-xref> (the Ensuring Patient Access and Effective Drug Enforcement Act of 2016), such Act (including the amendments made by such Act) is repealed, and the provisions of sections 303 and 304 of the Controlled Substances Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/21/823">21 U.S.C. 823</external-xref>, 824) that were amended by <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/145">Public Law 114–145</external-xref> are hereby restored as if <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/114/145">Public Law 114–145</external-xref> had not been enacted into law.</text>
