 <section id="H469CECC214E64EE4949B91BEDD38B9ED" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Harmonization of Coverage Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H6490CD954B744927BC33352241598961"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to harmonize the definition of employee</header> <subsection id="H5261C4EE82D64116883D68A5C3119322"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definition of employee</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 3(e)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/203">29 U.S.C. 203(e)(1)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting before the period the following: <quote>, as determined under the usual common law rules (as applied for purposes of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/3121">section 3121(d)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986)</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H9CC098C4563346B9BD647813B3C7AE43"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Definition of employ</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 3(g) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/203">29 U.S.C. 203(g)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>an employee</quote> after <quote>permit</quote>.</text> </subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
