 <section id="H249C0C96850E46D893035547936BD18E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Findings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds the following:</text> <paragraph id="HEAFC1B006AEA40D8B824FA24CAF36F6C"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Staff Sergeant Sky Mote, USMC, grew up in El Dorado, California.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HDA376E1824AB4893A4DE9D5484D2E9F5"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Staff Sergeant Mote graduated from Union Mine High School.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HCFA1E844CA1E4842B7DFA9FFD74B1342"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Upon graduation, Staff Sergeant Mote promptly enlisted in the Marine Corps.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H9EFFA2D2CC0F4B02ADC95881F606654A"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Staff Sergeant Mote spent 9 years serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, including a deployment to Iraq and two deployments to Afghanistan.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H815A865352384BA8B09481A12F4A0BB8"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">By his decisive actions, heroic initiative, and resolute dedication to duty, Staff Sergeant Mote gave his life to protect fellow Marines on August 10, 2012, by gallantly rushing into action during an attack by a rogue Afghan policeman inside the base perimeter in Helmand province.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H820730DAEF5F421994B594A6CAAF0676"><enum>(6)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Staff Sergeant Mote was awarded the Navy Cross, a Purple Heart, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, a Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal, two Combat Action Ribbons and three Good Conduct Medals.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H4C6EC37A42964ADEAF3DE5CD037E6AC5"><enum>(7)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Congress of the United States, in acknowledgment of this debt that cannot be repaid, honors Staff Sergeant Mote for his ultimate sacrifice and recognizes his service to his country, faithfully executed to his last, full measure of devotion.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H9BA87C87E4A4426F973BD78ED273B9CA"><enum>(8)</enum><text>A presently unnamed peak in the center of Humphrey Basin holds special meaning to the friends and family of Sky Mote, as their annual hunting trips set up camp beneath this point; under the stars, the memories made beneath this rounded peak will be cherished forever.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="HE88424B7163A4D79BFE8B1B840D42BFC" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sky Point</header>
 <subsection id="HDAD4A3C37C464745B593C1850C19DBD8"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Designation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The mountain in the John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra National Forest in California, located at 37°15′16.10091″N 118°43′39.54102″W, shall be known and designated as <quote>Sky Point</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H82FA88EA4F4A421C86656BD557474141"><enum>(b)</enum><header>References</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, record, or other paper of the United States to the mountain described in subsection (a) shall be considered to be a reference to <quote>Sky Point</quote>.</text>
