 <section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Steve Gleason Act of 2015</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6D3C056E5C4D489C89A10DDB417C580C" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Providing Medicare beneficiary access to eye tracking accessories for speech generating devices</header> <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE306485302E1458C86DBED0C7D862338"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1861(n) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395x">42 U.S.C. 1395x(n)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting <quote>and eye tracking and gaze interaction accessories for speech generating devices furnished to individuals with a demonstrated medical need for such accessories</quote> after <quote>appropriate organizations)</quote>.</text>
 </subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2C0753A683174633968D424E62217711"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to devices furnished on or after January 1, 2016.</text>
			</subsection></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idD3E9055B0E1F4158AB259B3912427EEF" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>3.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Removing the rental cap for durable medical equipment under Medicare with respect to speech
 generating devices</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1834(a)(2)(A) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395m">42 U.S.C. 1395m(a)(2)(A)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD5F1A594817E45FD8DD631E71C2343FB"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in clause (ii), by striking <quote>or</quote> at the end;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFC464835C0924961A32BF34130BC3DEF"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in clause (iii), by adding <quote>or</quote> at the end; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HABA010164E274ECEA8DF8411B2F99C41"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by inserting after clause (iii) the following new clause:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H78E520269D0E446A957672E61964606C" style="OLC">
 <clause commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H21CFC00E7B5A47D192C65FDF662AA4D3"><enum>(iv)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the case of devices furnished on or after October 1, 2015, and before October 1, 2018, which serves as a speech generating device or which is an accessory that is needed for the individual to effectively utilize such a device,</text></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
