			 in Baltimore, Maryland, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>President Street Station Study Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
 </section><section id="idD144F5BB47BC430B94D32A502F660FF7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text> <paragraph id="id9488A432FA144C2B86997BCD214B6449"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The term <quote>Secretary</quote> means the Secretary of the Interior.</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="id67D58DD1C6CF45A49EA7223C4C561F31"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Study
 area</header><text>The term <quote>study area</quote> means the President Street Station, a railroad terminal in Baltimore, Maryland, the history of which is tied to the growth of the railroad industry in the 19th century, the Civil War, the Underground Railroad, and the immigrant influx of the early 20th century.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="idB555C19DB17F4856BE6312419A69A9E2"><enum>3.</enum><header>Special resource
			 study</header>
 <subsection id="idA272695407A1476492479562D5F02C79"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Study</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct a special resource study of the study area.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="id07AF7F88F47C4DA08728E1E1C1E59E28"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text>In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall—</text>
 <paragraph id="idE87E7959C30144AA8F6C697DB77BD184"><enum>(1)</enum><text>evaluate the national significance of the study area;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id2FAD0127689C4F0EA538816778E7A8A6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>determine the suitability and feasibility of designating the study area as a unit of the National Park System;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idCC14CA98D07F44A9BC69D16C062E2602"><enum>(3)</enum><text>consider other alternatives for preservation, protection, and interpretation of the study area by the Federal Government, State or local government entities, or private and nonprofit organizations;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idCD04E718E6C84FF39F41C15CD011EC67"><enum>(4)</enum><text>consult with interested Federal agencies, State or local governmental entities, private and nonprofit organizations, or any other interested individuals; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id4D5F2DFA838C41218AB405A024D58840"><enum>(5)</enum><text>identify cost estimates for any Federal acquisition, development, interpretation, operation, and maintenance associated with the alternatives.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id3664915BF75E48AD87EE4207143DB2FA"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicable
 law</header><text>The study required under subsection (a) shall be conducted in accordance with section 8 of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="idF5198FDB38BE474390D73E642CC432F5"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are first made available for the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report that describes—</text>
 <paragraph id="id101455010CDB47578A1DFFBE0D2B7428"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the results of the study; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="idD2E86BD06E2E4B2985B5D641C9795D29"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any conclusions and recommendations of the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
