		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Low Value Shipment Regulatory Modernization Act of 2015</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="id694E636762F44ADA81FD322F305D665E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Sense of
			 Congress on de minimis informal entries</header>
 <subsection id="idDD3BC698DB854B8FB45E733591D0F0B0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Findings</header><text>Congress makes the following findings:</text>
 <paragraph id="idE3DED78FF16B4D40B719137EAE5D298E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Modernizing international customs is critical for United States businesses of all sizes, consumers in the United States, and the economic growth of the United States.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="id1EA78CE06776418D97CF9CA2EFC197DA"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Higher thresholds for the value of articles that may be entered informally and free of duty provide significant economic benefits to businesses and consumers in the United States and the economy of the United States through costs savings and reductions in trade transaction costs.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id1532a27fc6e14f07985dc0b8399022b1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Sense of
 Congress</header><text>It is the sense of Congress that the United States Trade Representative should encourage other countries, through bilateral, regional, and multilateral fora, to establish commercially meaningful de minimis values for express and postal shipments that are exempt from customs duties and taxes and from certain entry documentation requirements, as appropriate.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="id81B8391670ED4FC8B26B3330102998DC"><enum>3.</enum><header>Increase in maximum value of articles that may be imported
			 duty-free by one person on one day</header>
 <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5C8625010DE740F0B35998BB5878B5C2"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 321(a)(2)(C) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/19/1321">19 U.S.C. 1321(a)(2)(C)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>$200</quote> and inserting <quote>$800</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="idE185D46210574E68ADE790FF493D046D"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to articles entered, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after January 1, 2016.</text></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
