			 committee. </official-title></form><legis-body><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id1E441BB079F84B049F002CEE3770DBC0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Prohibition on employment of family members
			 of a candidate or Federal office holder by certain political
			 committees</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id719E681900804A4BB319F6F535E1AFE5"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Title III of the Federal Election Campaign
			 Act of 1971 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/52/30101">52 U.S.C. 30101 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended by inserting after
			 section
			 324
			 the following new section:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id103E763016C740A0981A7000D7B5BE4B" style="OLC"><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id23995E6725F2415E8AC58E859768A2A0" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>325.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Prohibition on employment of family members
				of a candidate or Federal office holder by certain political
				committees</header><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2940D106D6294DC88F3D25FC8F18846A"><enum>(a)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">It shall be unlawful for any authorized
				committee of a candidate or any other political committee
			 established,
				maintained, or controlled by a candidate or a person who holds a
			 Federal office
				to employ—</text><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6EA139CF404D46F699E1C08C9028CDDD"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the spouse of such candidate or Federal
				office holder; or</text></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7010612286254FD2B5F1E3AF4C2FDD39"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">any immediate family member of such
				candidate or Federal office holder.</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id17CDF8D194C741B88ABBE7E0812059A8"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Immediate family member</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of subsection (a), the term
				<term>immediate family member</term> means a son, daughter, stepson,
				stepdaughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother, father,
			 stepmother,
				stepfather, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, sister,
			 stepbrother, or
				stepsister of the
				Member.</text></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id247C25BECBFB464E8AA5B704BB03E204"><enum>(b)</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by
			 this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idE170166FBFA44F578486030C63838140"><enum>2.</enum><header>Spouse lobbying
			 member</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 207(e) of title
			 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id894ECA3BCCC64BFEB197F10F681017D5" style="OLC"><paragraph id="IDa1924aa982cd494aa971f2ef22429819"><enum>(10)</enum><header>Spouses</header><text>Any
				person who is the spouse of a Member of Congress and who was not
			 serving as a
				registered lobbyist at least 1 year prior to the election of that
			 Member of
				Congress to office and who, after the election of such Member,
			 knowingly
				lobbies on behalf of a client for compensation any Member of
			 Congress or is
				associated with any such lobbying activity by an employer of that
			 spouse shall
				be punished as provided in section 216 of this
