		<official-title>To provide additional visas for the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa Program, and for other purposes.</official-title>

			<enum>1.</enum>
			<header>Short title</header>
			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
		  <quote><short-title>Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id27083018F96645B688A7DC18309B9289" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Expansion of Afghan
			 Special Immigrant Visa Program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 602(b)(3)(D) of the Afghan Allies
			 Protection Act of 2009 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref> note) is amended to read as follows:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idbf88010d93bd447ea0c1bd9c6377637f" style="OLC">
				<subparagraph id="id956453569254456a8f600b70250a39bd">
					<enum>(D)</enum>
					<header>Additional fiscal year</header>
					<text>The total number of principal aliens who may be
			 provided
			 special immigrant status under this section in fiscal year 2014 may not
			 exceed 4,000,
			 except that, notwithstanding any other provision of this section—</text>
					<clause id="id16D2591BF1654356AA1BF2CA200D48A3">
						<enum>(i)</enum>
						<text>any unused balance of the total number of principal aliens who
			 may be provided special immigrant status under this section in fiscal year
			 2014 may
			 be carried forward and provided through December 31, 2016;</text>
					</clause><clause id="id05406A1AA78A4A26B3693E44336E637A">
						<enum>(ii)</enum>
						<text>the 1-year period during which an alien must have been employed in accordance with paragraph
			 (2)(A)(ii) shall be the period beginning on  October 7, 2001, and ending
			 on December 31,
			 2014; and</text>
					</clause><clause id="id781EB674A4B440D8B67128CE83F0ED23">
						<enum>(iii)</enum>
						<text>the principal alien seeking special immigrant status under this subparagraph shall apply to the
			 Chief of Mission in accordance with paragraph (2)(D) not later than
			 December 31, 2014.</text>
