	<legis-body><section id="idEDBB8CB5CDC34873988365272401EDA6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Interstate child endangerment</header><subsection id="id92CB2FF5B54F4F25A7B314BF28F4F5F5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/110A">Chapter 110A</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 2261A the
			 following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idB8AF72A035374E9CAC7A8A1363D0F36D" style="USC"><section id="idACC9F11F611F4726AE4CB59D4234A064"><enum>2261B.</enum><header>Interstate child endangerment</header><subsection id="idCFEFA2C364254425B90F83D5B5E96DA2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Offenses</header><paragraph id="ida399413c59704ad5bfc9905b40827ce0"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Travel or conduct of offender</header><text>It shall be unlawful for any person who travels in interstate or foreign commerce or enters or
			 leaves Indian country or is present within the special maritime and
			 territorial jurisdiction of the United States to purposely, knowingly, or
			 negligently cause substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to a
			 child by—</text><subparagraph id="id0aad3035b2174ada8dc85061e8967abb"><enum>(A)</enum><text>placing the child in the physical custody of another individual who the person knows has previously
			 purposely or knowingly caused bodily injury to a child; or</text></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id93dda7ba46324856909324d0ba5c7858"><enum>(B)</enum><text>operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, in violation of
			 the law of the State in which the motor vehicle is being operated, while
			 the child
			 is in the motor vehicle.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idb959fa22755f4bb3a5d963db8441cd4c"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Causing travel of victim</header><text>It shall be unlawful for any  person to cause a child to travel in interstate or foreign commerce
			 or to enter or leave Indian country by force, coercion, duress, or fraud
			 and in the course of, as a result of, or to facilitate such conduct or
			 travel, to commit or attempt to commit an offense under paragraph (1).</text></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="idC2DC23DD54F044BD8BBDD388D5AC671F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Penalties</header><text>A person who commits an offense under subsection (a) shall be fined not more than $50,000,
			 imprisoned for not more than 10 years, or both.</text></subsection><subsection id="idED70BC6D63E2455FA1FFA66F59BBE1D8"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section—</text><paragraph id="id876B826824BF47C3A0778C83C01CFA8C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the term <term>child</term> means an individual who has not attained 14 years of age; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idC46946F5A9AB414B94AFA1B61AA44F7D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the term <term>controlled substances</term> has the meaning given the term in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/21/802">21 U.S.C. 802</external-xref>).</text></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection><subsection id="id73F10DD2874C4650978854612C2CC4B3"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Table of sections</header><text>The table of section for <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/18/110A">chapter 110A</external-xref> of title 18, United States Code, is amended by inserting
			 after the item relating to section 2261A the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idFA812294345340A3B2740BE75ECBB5E6" style="OLC"><toc><toc-entry bold="off" level="section">2261B.
