		<official-title>To protect the Medicare program under title XVIII of the Social Security Act with respect to
			 reconciliation involving changes to the Medicare program.</official-title>

			<enum>1.</enum>
			<header>Short title</header>
			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
		  <quote><short-title>Medicare Protection Act</short-title></quote>.</text>

			<enum>2.</enum>
			<header>Sense of the Senate</header>
			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">It is the sense of the Senate that—</text>
			<paragraph id="id04975f7b84184b7ab493fcde5e59bae5">
				<enum>(1)</enum>
				<text>the eligibility age under the Medicare program under title XVIII of the Social Security Act (42
			 U.S.C. 1395 et seq.) should not be increased; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="idf1373927285e4132bc98e07c716d165f">
				<enum>(2)</enum>
				<text>the Medicare program should not be privatized or turned into a voucher system.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="id9AE748A144214155BF0415B91CBF96BB">
			<enum>3.</enum>
			<header>Reconciliation involving changes to the Medicare program</header>
			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 313(b)(1) of the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (2 U.S.C.
			 644(b)(1)) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="id837B7F6A8B38481F9B8412D32F138264">
				<enum>(1)</enum>
				<text>in subparagraph (E), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="idDD03398BAD3745EA83E47C8401ECD829">
				<enum>(2)</enum>
				<text>in subparagraph (F), by striking the period and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="id275033A955EF48C88922B44C73C861BA">
				<enum>(3)</enum>
				<text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

					<subparagraph id="id67E8BB89A8EF4ED4867B53003423B401">
						<enum>(G)</enum>
						<text>a provision shall be considered extraneous if it  eliminates or reduces guaranteed benefits for
			 individuals entitled to, or enrolled for, benefits under the Medicare
			 program under title XVIII of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395 et
			 seq.) or restricts eligibility for such program.</text>
