			<header>Short title</header>
			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Improving Trauma Care Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>

			<enum>2.</enum>
			<header>Trauma definition</header>
			<subsection id="HDDA9FA49893347EBAAFB7FCFC371BBA3">
				<enum>(a)</enum>
				<header>Revised definition under trauma systems grants programs</header>
				<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (4) of section 1231 of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/300d-31">42 U.S.C. 300d–31</external-xref>) is amended to
			 read as follows:</text>

					<paragraph id="HCBFB500C4F92452BB2117AACE6FC23A7">
						<enum>(4)</enum>
						<header>Trauma</header>
						<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>trauma</term> means an injury resulting from exposure to—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H1FB1DA59AE3B489486ECBBF6091D57C7">
							<enum>(A)</enum>
							<text>a mechanical force; or</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6207B30D4D8E4BA99858BD8A1B288919">
							<enum>(B)</enum>
							<text>another extrinsic agent, including an extrinsic agent that is thermal, electrical, chemical, or
			 radioactive.</text>

				<header>Revised definition under interagency program for trauma research</header>
				<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (3) of section 1261(h) of the Public Health Service Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/300d-61">42 U.S.C. 300d–61(h)</external-xref>) is amended
			 to read as follows:</text>

						<enum>(3)</enum>
