		<official-title>To amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to allow for data collection about
			 military-connected students.</official-title>

	<legis-body><section id="id23AF36B9F92B46239E96EB2EF8D04F77" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Helping Military Children Succeed in Schools Act </short-title></quote>.</text></section><section id="id6065E5C0D288455AB2753E380F21D6CC"><enum>2.</enum><header>Amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1111(h)(1)(C) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C.
			 6311(h)(1)(C)) is amended—</text><paragraph id="id6867124E88894A2C8A1F1FAEC730EBFC"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in clause (vii) by striking <quote>and</quote> after the semicolon;</text></paragraph><paragraph id="id797AD684265948A3BD9CE9B343894C84"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in clause (viii) by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text></paragraph><paragraph id="idA839D90994CE47B8AB821A9CD71F75B5"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after clause (viii) the following:</text><quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idBD57A7A14DC24801B8F6AEAB3CD726C1" style="OLC"><clause id="id9545CD84CE5B4AF1BB9E9B81D2E9284F"><enum>(ix)</enum><text>information regarding the number of military-connected students which, for the
	 purposes of this clause, shall mean students with a parent who serves in
	 the Armed Forces, including the National Guard and Reserve Forces, and information
			 regarding
	 academic achievement for such students, except that such information shall not
	 be used for school or local educational agency accountability purposes under
	 section 1116.</text></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body>
