		<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide
			 additional educational assistance under the Post-9/11 Educational
			 Assistance Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs to certain
			 eligible individuals.</official-title>

		<section id="HC293F8A0EF19487E99E36DE277E6E2C2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>GI Bill STEM Extension Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H812BC6EACFD24182BE8431AAE725B6B4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Additional educational assistance under Post-9/11 Educational Assistance Program of Department of
			 Veterans Affairs</header>
			<subsection id="H77F62872CC714722BA7B4B19AE2EC8CE"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subchapter II of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/33">chapter 33</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new section:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H0B1189AB9EB84FFAB04B5052799BE43A" style="USC">
					<section id="HAD59F2E9C0F84CCA8010A9FD4E1FB65B"><enum>3320.</enum><header>Additional benefits</header>
						<subsection id="H711B80CB7B924025982477A31F57E531"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary may provide to an eligible individual additional educational assistance under this
			 section.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="H00D1B34D7EB54CA6B300FECD14A112F6"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Amount of assistance</header><text>The Secretary shall pay to each individual who receives educational assistance under this section
			 who is pursuing a program of education the amount payable under section
			 3313 of this title for such program of education for a period of not more
			 than nine months.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="HCB8EBC61375F484B8576A38C1A13BB83"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Eligibility</header><text>An eligible individual is an individual—</text>
							<paragraph id="H85B165103D1149489A010CABEF6D60FA"><enum>(1)</enum><text>who is or was entitled to educational assistance under section 3311 of this title;</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H93A84D19BF6245EF8DAB594D90E15B21"><enum>(2)</enum><text>who has used all of the educational assistance to which the individual is entitled under this
			 chapter; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H1FC8A0D35687445FB7D2A01F88D6E802"><enum>(3)</enum><text>who—</text>
								<subparagraph id="H5A5C23BD3E014BE992E607DA0F8F9576"><enum>(A)</enum><text>is enrolled in a program of education leading to a post-secondary degree that requires more than
			 the standard 128 semester (or 192 quarter) credit hours for completion in—</text>
									<clause id="HFC889250AF174757930CA06260C512A4"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">biological or biomedical science;</text>
									</clause><clause id="H84CD1DBB17864D669A9BDE5510DE45C3"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>physical science;</text>
									</clause><clause id="HFCED5300C72F4C43A07A89F8EAEE4D02"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>science technologies or technicians;</text>
									</clause><clause id="HA9BA02DB72AE43E08E059545B86653BF"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>computer and information science and support services;</text>
									</clause><clause id="H7709CBFBA03E4E5A80DC29FA4C3092B5"><enum>(v)</enum><text>mathematics or statistics;</text>
									</clause><clause id="H62D3A377EFF74FADB04F1197C3142F75"><enum>(vi)</enum><text>engineering;</text>
									</clause><clause id="H3D7FEF957C8D438DA538F1F942008473"><enum>(vii)</enum><text>engineering technologies or an engineering-related field;</text>
									</clause><clause id="H08A70A7348D7467794EF222A682D7279"><enum>(viii)</enum><text>a health profession or related program; or</text>
									</clause><clause id="HF3E57940FADB4793B73C47D36C149197"><enum>(ix)</enum><text>a medical residency program; or</text>
									</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="HC7E6F5F3A56B472385AC0E825C1F06FB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>has earned a post-secondary degree in a field referred to in subparagraph (A) and is enrolled in a
			 program of education leading to a teaching certification.</text>
								</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H400AABEBE20D4D5B88479FA820E078B0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Clerical amendment</header><text>The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by inserting after the item
			 relating to section 3319 the following new item:</text>
