		<official-title>To amend the Fair Credit Reporting Act to require public disclosure of the method used to calculate
			 consumer credit scores and inclusion of debt settlement agreements in
			 consumer reports.</official-title>

		<section id="H6DB9E96933394718B7D7036DCF0D663E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Public disclosure of method used to calculate consumer credit scores</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 609 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1681g">15 U.S.C. 1681g</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HCF20DEF17B884C5A98973AAEE56D4DD1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a)(1)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H97698EB4FD65436B9F3C9C3F95AD29C0"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking <quote>that—</quote> and all that follows through <quote>if the consumer</quote> and inserting <quote>that, if the consumer</quote>;</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6B24650B92164847833FFF36C67AE717"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>; and</quote> and inserting a period; and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HF4BEB372D27A42E6B8CE6A8D2F050A62"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by striking subparagraph (B); and</text>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H1219D36FB95A46839D0180780375936C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by amending subsection (f)(5) to read as follows:</text>
				<quoted-block id="H1DBC1603C2DA4B8692521CA80DD33A0F" style="OLC">
					<paragraph id="H1FC178EC1E6C465C856F5F70050211CC"><enum>(5)</enum><header>Public disclosure of credit score methodology</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any person who develops a tool or system for deriving a credit score shall make such tool or system
			 available to the public, including on such person’s website.</text>
					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph></section><section id="H987440D9CDBC4DCABE9BAB2D114153C2"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirement for furnishers of information to report debt settlement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 623(a) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1681s-1">15 U.S.C. 1681s–1(a)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the
			 end the following new paragraph:</text>

				<paragraph id="HB404813060A64801B9F680CB53E64A01"><enum>(10)</enum><header>Duty to provide notice of debt settlement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A person who furnishes information to a consumer reporting agency with respect to a debt of a
			 consumer shall, if the person enters into a settlement agreement with the
			 consumer with respect to such debt, notify the consumer reporting agency
			 of such agreement within 30 days of such agreement.</text></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
