		<official-title>To amend the Telecommunications Act of 1996 to restore the authority of the Federal Communications
			 Commission to adopt certain rules relating to preserving the open Internet
			 and to direct the Commission to take all actions necessary to restore to
			 effect vacated portions of such rules.</official-title>

		<section id="H416A5AD49C7443D58002E33734FE6B55" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Open Internet Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H214D8027DA434CD894B76C653E3AB16E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authority for and restoration of 2010 open Internet rules</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/1302">47 U.S.C. 1302</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H2C7AE28A849943D0A0C7233078D2202D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating subsection (d) as subsection (e); and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H0D2B24B752FB4933A2D974A3A6225F92"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (c) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H87A943671CB84AB1B1C072CEAD98C50A" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H904AAD4720F24CADB37587D86E4E84E3"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authority for and restoration of 2010 open Internet rules</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding sections 3(51) and 332(c)(2) of the Communications Act of 1934 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/153">47 U.S.C. 153(51)</external-xref>;
			 332(c)(2)), the Commission is authorized by this section to adopt the
			 rules adopted on December 21, 2010, in the Report and Order in the matter
			 of preserving the open Internet and broadband industry practices (FCC
			 10–201). Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of the <short-title>Open Internet Act of 2014</short-title>, the Commission shall take all actions necessary to restore to effect the portions of such rules
			 that were vacated by the United States Court of Appeals for the District
			 of Columbia Circuit in Verizon v. Federal Communications Commission (No.
			 11–1355; decided on January 14, 2014).</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
