		<section id="H6774F9FA251C4805B336646F05F17F54" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Protecting the Homeland Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H770BBEEC40E449A39AFD9BCBF573203E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Libyan and third country nationals acting on behalf of Libyan entities</header>
			<subsection id="HBCFE2DA4A1134DEEB1384BFF17597993"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Termination of and limitation on status</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of the immigration laws (as such term is defined in section 101
			 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref>)), the nonimmigrant
			 status of any Libyan national, or of any other foreign national acting on
			 behalf of a Libyan entity, who is engaging in aviation maintenance, flight
			 operations, or nuclear-related studies or training is terminated.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H41918F7B32DE4CD389168D33614E9BE0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Limitation on benefits</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any other provision of the immigration laws (as such term is defined in section 101
			 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref>)), the following
			 benefits will not be available to any Libyan national or any other foreign
			 national acting on behalf of a Libyan entity where the purpose is to
			 engage in, or seek to obtain aviation maintenance, flight operations or
			 nuclear-related studies or training:</text>
				<paragraph id="HB5F9F4CC49A9496B93F79FB73D800610"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Application for school transfer.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA9C8A1F29618427A856FAC4BF8134615"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Application for extension of stay.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HF46A7F96BFA44E0581FA1369DF82B547"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Employment authorization or practical training.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H7604F2711F6F47E5B62C5B0CB8C48B3C"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Request for reinstatement of student status.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H91352AB565914F7B96D85CDDE14D16F7"><enum>(5)</enum><text>Application for change of nonimmigrant status.</text>
