		<official-title>To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for additional qualification requirements for
			 individuals appointed to marriage and family therapist positions in the
			 Veterans Health Administration of the Department of Veterans Affairs.</official-title>

		<section id="HF57FE432A6054348BC62E4F531AFA984" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Marriage and Family Therapists for Veterans Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H6D439539E3A24858ABC731F794542560" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Additional qualification requirements for marriage and family therapists of the Department of
			 Veterans Affairs</header>
			<subsection id="H9FE6C340BF92460E874186562938EC6C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/7402">Section 7402(b)(10)</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H0BB4AB3E37AD4ADF8E2BFD7ACC063F02"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HD775ED584E0346178FCAD27886F2D68A"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by inserting <quote>that is regionally accredited or</quote> before <quote>approved</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8AC3952FAB9B40FCB9D5E57ED19645BB"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking <quote>; and</quote> and inserting a semicolon;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H4F62CDF610BF4C9F8113D3BCEE8E4EF2"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph (B), by striking the period and inserting <quote>; and</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H15A8958E32C54347B774AC613E22E31C"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H2DBB691CF1C64B91BE5A743BE1EEBF1B" style="USC">
						<subparagraph id="H1550A72442584F56825F6FC8913D4542"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">have passed—</text>
							<clause id="H0773C4DCBDB44CB0B4B3054A19782D11"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the Association of Marital and Family Therapy regulatory board examination in marital and family
			 therapy; or</text>
							</clause><clause id="H750158082F414F2B85700F68031D7AED"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>an examination for a marriage and family therapy license given by a State board of behavioral
			 sciences or its equivalent.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H5AEDB827FB4F4E66AE068A9BE38E0FBB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply to the appointment of an individual to a marriage
			 and family therapist position on or after the date of the enactment of
			 this Act.</text>
