<official-title>To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to expeditiously grant privileges to members of the Armed Forces who are health care providers to provide hospital care and medical services in medical facilities of the Department of Veterans Affairs.</official-title>

<section id="H34F1D39870494A319BF68E6A1245C81E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>VA Credentialing and Privileging Improvement Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section>
<section id="H35CC4963E8624E5A9E934E810CF823B6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Approval of credentials of military physicians for purposes of granting privileges to Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities</header> 
<subsection id="HDC91F9CDEF044E1F813F9B8ABC1D9562"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Approval of credentials</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 30 days after a request is made by a military health care provider described in subsection (b) for privileges to provide hospital care or medical services in a medical facility of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall approve the credentials of the provider and grant such privileges, unless the Secretary can show cause for denying such privileges.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H5AEFC1D918D541999C3975348BFECF0C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Military health care provider</header><text>A military health care provider described in this subsection is a member of the Armed Forces who—</text> 
<paragraph id="HA51F9D51FAE84D7684224370962322C3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>is a health care provider;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD4567EC54E8D414498927FDE51373AA8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>is serving on active duty in, or in the process of being separated from, the Armed Forces; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD138A02CB9E743BD92EEB810CAB9550A"><enum>(3)</enum><text>is privileged to work in a military treatment facility.</text></paragraph></subsection></section>
