		<section id="HD99285B64EC747FFBE2D833023ABA9DF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Emergency Afghan Allies Extension Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HFCA6A75BFC9C4592966AA15002108364" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Expansion of Afghan Special Immigrant Visa Program</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 602(b)(3)(D) of the Afghan Allies Protection Act of 2009 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1101">8 U.S.C. 1101</external-xref> note) is amended to
			 read as follows:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H80FAD57F864D4C4E838E9DA2F73E4940" style="OLC">
				<subparagraph id="H028AB24D0E6A41B9BC140742855498FC"><enum>(D)</enum><header>Additional fiscal year</header><text>The total number of principal aliens who may be provided special immigrant status under this
			 section in fiscal year 2014 may not exceed 4,000, except that,
			 notwithstanding any other provision of this section—</text>
					<clause id="HC17A19E90D254565AEB4A4EE66F6134A"><enum>(i)</enum><text>any unused balance of the total number of principal aliens who may be provided special immigrant
			 status under this section in fiscal year 2014 may be carried forward and
			 provided through December 31, 2016;</text>
					</clause><clause id="HC85D650D31284C6B8172131668F93904"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>the 1-year period during which an alien must have been employed in accordance with paragraph
			 (2)(A)(ii) shall be the period beginning on October 7, 2001, and ending on
			 December 31, 2014; and</text>
					</clause><clause id="HCD77B072693C4AA2BD7A2A4BFD826689"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>the principal alien seeking special immigrant status under this subparagraph shall apply to the
			 Chief of Mission in accordance with paragraph (2)(D) not later than
			 December 31, 2014.</text></clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
		</section><section id="H4E6D35AC3E724A59B50D05533D01CFC4"><enum>3.</enum><header>Temporary fee increase for certain consular services</header>
			<subsection id="H4050576F9D884AD5B1C7FDCBC7681F86"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of State, not later than January 1, 2015,
			 shall increase the fee or surcharge authorized under section 140(a) of the
			 Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1994 and 1995 (Public
			 Law 103–236; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1351">8 U.S.C. 1351</external-xref> note) by $1.50 for processing machine-readable
			 nonimmigrant visas and machine-readable combined border crossing
			 identification cards and nonimmigrant visas.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1F542EE02E064066B8681AAF2990DD31"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Deposit of amounts</header><text>Notwithstanding section 140(a)(2) of the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1994 and
			 1995 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/103/236">Public Law 103–236</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1351">8 U.S.C. 1351</external-xref> note), the additional amount
			 collected pursuant the fee increase authorized under subsection (a) shall
			 be deposited in the general fund of the Treasury.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H5E765BDA72DB457EB74304837EA2FE5A"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Sunset provision</header><text>The fee increase authorized under subsection (a) shall terminate on the date that is 4 years after
			 the first date on which such increased fee is collected.</text>
