		<section id="H62A584F5948E4BF894171289674105E3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Neglected Infections of Impoverished Americans Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HB2D4CCBD9C214AADAFC3FE924FC1FB2C" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report to Congress on the current state of parasitic diseases that have been overlooked among the
			 poorest Americans</header>
			<subsection id="H810676E3F16B4F7094594DB48C016E9D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 12 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Health and
			 Human Services shall report to the Congress on the epidemiology of, impact
			 of, and appropriate funding required to address neglected diseases of
			 poverty, including neglected parasitic diseases such as—</text>
				<paragraph id="H1577BDF2A5C2426691C894BF32506D99"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Chagas disease;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA59DAA8C7C52471983799D4D7F2C428C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>cysticercosis;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB63C3B7460CA41FE8B2A411729B11757"><enum>(3)</enum><text>toxocariasis;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H3C064C2BF368407EB4B978C41FCD54F5"><enum>(4)</enum><text>toxoplasmosis;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H5E6564B0060F46939E340E1AF64B348C"><enum>(5)</enum><text>trichomoniasis;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H63D4799F07FC4D1A8A59D5DFBB5D3450"><enum>(6)</enum><text>the soil-transmitted helminths; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H0D212F4175944FC78C3ED41FFD15D51F"><enum>(7)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">other related parasitic diseases, as designated by the Secretary.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H48F3CD7BF6B54A848A8B69CC224459F8"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Required information</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The report under <internal-xref idref="H810676E3F16B4F7094594DB48C016E9D" legis-path="1.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref> should provide the information necessary to guide future health policy to—</text>
				<paragraph id="HBF5EF19546564933BFE6851F687C107F"><enum>(1)</enum><text>accurately evaluate the current state of knowledge concerning diseases described in such subsection
			 and define gaps in such knowledge; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H685769A86F9544E886C1C5971E7C54C9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>address the threat of such diseases.</text>
