		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to extend the authority of the Internal Revenue Service
			 to require truncated social security numbers on Form W–2 wage and tax
			 statements.</official-title>

		<section id="H6931D23E94C043B4BB9480C3D05C927E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Taxpayer Identity Protection Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H1145700B8BA34DA3B6111536D056B553"><enum>2.</enum><header>Extension of IRS authority to require truncated Social Security numbers on Form W–2</header>
			<subsection id="H5E684473FCA94930B99B525B54625A9E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (2) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/6051">section 6051(a)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by striking <quote>his social security account number</quote> and inserting <quote>an identifying number for the employee</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H829BEAF13DF94EDC8906D72F820F52DB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
