		<official-title>To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prevent veterans from being disqualified from
			 contributing to health savings accounts by reason of receiving medical
			 care for service-connected disabilities under programs administered by the
			 Department of Veterans Affairs.</official-title>

		<section id="H7C95101B0FC841D5BE0BA6CAA80FE3DE" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Helping Veterans Save for Health Care Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" id="H54B2E073398E437EBDBE7DE888F7327D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Veterans not disqualified from health savings account by reason of receiving medical care for
			 service-connected disabilities under programs administered by the
			 Department of Veterans Affairs</header>
			<subsection commented="no" id="H9163654A515A42CA9FD74D15574DCD88"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/223">Section 223(c)(1)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is amended by adding at the end the
			 following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H5489F88E59F148EEBDD205AEEC66AABC" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph commented="no" id="HFCEF000A44BE4FBFA1D15A7244ACD871"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Special rule for individuals eligible for certain veterans benefits</header><text>An individual shall not fail to be treated as an eligible individual for any period merely because
			 the individual receives hospital care or medical services under any law
			 administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for a service-connected
			 disability (within the meaning of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/101">section 101(16)</external-xref> of title 38, United
			 States Code).</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD5396E1382984C6EBB6A0D416D72E66F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by this section shall apply to months beginning after the date of the enactment
			 of this Act.</text>
