		<official-title>To amend title II of the Social Security Act to preclude use of the social security account number
			 on Government-issued identification cards issued in connection with
			 Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP benefits, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section commented="no" id="HB8ED4E5EC303446E86D0D7DEEDFD49A4" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Seniors’ Identity Protection Act of 2014</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section commented="no" id="H1A6DF3D8C23A48BFA29989ADC1388A33" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Restrictions on use of the social security account number of Government-issued identification cards
			 issued in connection with Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP benefits</header>
			<subsection commented="no" id="HCE0DA0EBE9AE48D9ADA3A26AA4BD94C6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Provisions related to Medicare</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 205(c)(2)(C) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/405">42 U.S.C. 405(c)(2)(C)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at
			 the end the following new clause:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H02B3D2F7EE2E408E8E33FBCB06B5A44F" style="traditional">
					<clause commented="no" id="H6DE5E89700CE4C868F8A9300F612B553" indent="up3"><enum>(x)</enum><text>In the administration of title XVIII, the Secretary may not display an individual’s social security
			 account number (or any derivative of such number) on any personal
			 identification card issued for purposes of carrying out such title.</text></clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" id="HBC3C87087CE54E0EBFCC70D2F2669BE4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Provisions related to Medicaid or SCHIP</header><text>Section 205(c)(2)(C)(vi) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/402">42 U.S.C. 402(c)(2)(C)(iv)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end
			 the following new subclause:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H9D0244EFE99843B1AFC0B94C9A4F956F" style="traditional">
					<subclause commented="no" id="HF14D7C69784F409B8C6E7F7A499AE1B5" indent="up4"><enum>(III)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Any State or political subdivision thereof (and any person acting as an agent of such an agency or
			 instrumentality), in the administration of any program established under
			 title XIX or XXI, may not display an individual’s social security account
			 number (or any derivative of such number) on any personal identification
			 card issued for purposes of carrying out such program.</text></subclause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection commented="no" id="HC02CAEAB972F4851A5A00480E7B481B1"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to personal identification cards
			 issued after 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
			</subsection></section><section commented="no" id="H8DC8B354A18946459C34093BADF0E128"><enum>3.</enum><header>Sense of the Congress relating to use by private entities of the social security account number</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">It is the sense of the Congress that private entities should not use social security account
			 numbers as a method of identification of individuals on documents made
			 available to the public or on personal identification cards issued to
			 individuals by such entities.</text>
